Especially common place in online shooters,
and used primarily by them British and European arseholes.
They have been around and used for quite awhile...
I have encountered these so called "competitive" gamers online
on Battlefield Bad Company 2 alot recently, and on COD:MW2 long time ago.
And you can tell when an opponent is using a lag switch,
because your shots aren't hitting him, and your aiming is lagging behind
his character's movements, and he drops you hella faster than you can kill him.
Not to mention the popping in and out of connection, and the floating
bullets and characters. Pisses me off, when someone is using a lag switch
in an online match.
Cheaters, they don't have the skills to play you one up
legitimately, so they find other ways via technology to screw up your gameplay.
There is no room in this world for those kind of people/gamers,
who just wana ruin a good clean fun time.

Firstly With Rj45 Continuity

Then Secondly Online With Both
The Playstation 3 And Xbox 360 Consoles
Remember The Time You Hold The Button Down For Before You Release You Must
Wait That Amount Of Time Before Holding The Button Again.
Example
Hold The Button Down For 3 Seconds, Then Release The Button,
Wait 6 Seconds
Hold Down The Button For Another 3 Seconds To Continue The Lag Time.
